Three Pt4L2L′2 heteroleptic rectangles ( 1 – 3 ), containing ditopic redox-active bis-pyridine functionalized perylene bisimide (PBI) ligands PBI-pyr2 ( L ) are reported. Co-ligand L′ is a dicarboxylate spacer of varying length, leading to modified overall size of the assemblies. 1H NMR spectroscopy reveals a trend in the splitting and upfield chemical shift of the PBI-hydrogens in the rectangles with respect to free PBI, most pronounced with the largest strut length ( 3 ) and least with the smallest strut length ( 1 ). This is attributed to increased rotational freedom of the PBI-pyr 2 ligand over its longitudinal axis (Npy-Npy), due to increased distance between the PBI-surfaces, which is corroborated by VT-NMR measurements and DFT calculations. The intramolecular motion entails desymmetrization of the two PBI-ligands, in line with cyclic voltammetry (CV) data. The first (overall two-electron) reduction event and re-oxidation for 1 display a subtle peak-to-peak splitting of 60 mV, whilst increased splitting of this event is observed for 2 and 3 . The binding of pyrene in 1 is probed to establish proof of concept of host-guest chemistry enabled by the two PBI-motifs. Fitting the binding curve obtained by 1H NMR titration with a 1:1 complex formation model led to a binding constant of 964±55 m −1. Pyrene binding is shown to directly influence the redox-chemistry of 1 , resulting in a cathodic and anodic shift of approximately 46 mV on the first and second reduction event, respectively.  相似文献

Density Functional Theory studies of square-planar PtII pincer structures, (4-Z-NCN)PtCl ([4-Z-NCN]=[4-Z-2,6-(Me2NCH2)2C6H2-N,C,N], Z=H, NO2, CF3, CO2H, CHO, Cl, Br, I, F, SMe, SiMe3, tBu, OH, NH2, NMe2), enable characterisation of mesomerism for the pincer-Pt interaction. Relationships between Hammett σp substituent parameters of Z and DFT data obtained from NBO6 and AOMix computation are used to probe the interaction of the 5dyz orbital of platinum with π-orbitals of the arene ring. Analogous computation for 2,6-(Me2CH2)2C6H3Z (Z=H, CF3, CHO, Cl, Br, I, F, SMe, SiMe3, tBu, OH, NH2) and (4-H-NCN)PtZ allows an estimation of the relative substituent effects of “(CH2NMe2)2PtZ” on π-delocalisation in the pincer system.  相似文献

Flavoprotein oxidases are a diverse class of biocatalysts, most of which catalyze the oxidation of C? O, C? N, or C? C bonds. Flavoprotein oxidases that are known to catalyze the oxidation of C? S bonds are rare, being limited to enzymes that catalyze the oxidative cleavage of thioethers. Herein, we report that various flavoprotein oxidases, previously thought to solely act on alcohols, also catalyze the oxidation of thiols to thiocarbonyls. These results highlight the versatility of enzymatic catalysis and provide a potential biocatalytic route to reactive thiocarbonyl compounds, which have a variety of applications in synthetic organic chemistry.  相似文献

Confinement-imposed photophysics was probed for novel stimuli-responsive hydrazone-based compounds demonstrating a conceptual difference in their behavior within 2D versus 3D porous matrices for the first time. The challenges associated with photoswitch isomerization arising from host interactions with photochromic compounds in 2D scaffolds could be overcome in 3D materials. Solution-like photoisomerization rate constants were realized for sterically demanding hydrazone derivatives in the solid state through their coordinative immobilization in 3D scaffolds. According to steady-state and time-resolved photophysical measurements and theoretical modeling, this approach provides access to hydrazone-based materials with fast photoisomerization kinetics in the solid state. Fast isomerization of integrated hydrazone derivatives allows for probing and tailoring resonance energy transfer (ET) processes as a function of excitation wavelength, providing a novel pathway for ET modulation.  相似文献

Photosubstitutionally active ruthenium complexes show high potential as prodrugs for the photoactivated chemotherapy (PACT) treatment of tumors. One of the problems in PACT is that the localization of the ruthenium compound is hard to trace. Here, a ruthenium PACT prodrug, [Ru(3)(biq)(STF-31)](PF6)2 (where 3 = 3-(([2,2′:6′,2″-ter- pyridin]-4′-yloxy)propyl-4-(pyren-1-yl)butanoate) and biq = 2,2′-biquinoline), has been prepared, in which a pyrene tracker is attached via an ester bond. The proximity between the fluorophore and the ruthenium center leads to fluorescence quenching. Upon intracellular hydrolysis of the ester linkage, however, the fluorescence of the pyrene moiety is recovered, thus demonstrating prodrug cellular uptake. Further light irradiation of this molecule liberates by photosubstitution STF-31, a known cytotoxic nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) inhibitor, as well as singlet oxygen via excitation of the free pyrene chromophore. The dark and light cytotoxicity of the prodrug, embedded in liposomes, as well as the appearance of blue emission upon uptake, were evaluated in A375 human skin melanoma cells. The cytotoxicity of the liposome-embedded prodrug was indeed increased by light irradiation. This work realizes an in vitro proof-of-concept of the lock-and-kill principle, which may ultimately be used to design strategies aimed at knowing where and when light irradiation should be realized in vivo.  相似文献
